FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it possible to participate in ISUF 2025 remotely?

The activities of the International Conference ISUF 2025 URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE are planned exclusively in person: remote or recorded presentations are not allowed.

However, proper and complete registration for the Conference permits the inclusion of the proposal’s abstract in the Book of Abstracts and the potential inclusion of the full paper in the proceedings, provided it is duly submitted by September 30th, 2025, and successfully passes the peer review/acceptance process conducted by the Scientific Committee.

  • Is it possible to request to be placed in sessions on specific dates?

We will note every kind request and do our best to accommodate it in the program of International Conference ISUF 2025 URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. However, we will need to consider the sequence of the sessions and the number of contributions. The official program of the Conference will be made public on June 12th, after the registration period closes.

  • Is it possible to know how the abstract reviews were conducted and what the reviewers’ judgment is? Can we expect a new review with a new judgment?

The proposal submitted following the call for abstracts promoted by ISUF 2025 Turin Conference URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE has been subjected, anonymously, to a double review process.

This means that at least two members of the Scientific Committee have read the abstract and evaluated it based on six possible merit assessments numerically parameterized regarding the following five points: thematic relevance for the call for abstracts, impact for theory or practice, originality and level of innovativeness, quality of content, quality of presentation. The reviewers were also asked to indicate whether the chosen topic was appropriate or if the proposal could be directed toward another topic, and they were given the opportunity to provide additional comments (public or private) if deemed necessary.

With a maximum achievable score of 100 and a threshold of acceptability set at 65, it was found that 55% of the proposers fell above that threshold, while 45% remained below it.

Rejected proposals were evaluated with a score below the threshold of 65/100 points. Generally, there were no many comments from the reviewers. If anyone wants to know if their proposals got any comment, please ask to the ISUF 2025 secretary email address.

Given the timeline and the high number of high-quality accepted proposals, a second round of evaluations is not anticipated.

  • Can I request that my proposal be placed in a poster session or in a panel session?

The call for abstracts promoted by the ISUF 2025 Turin Conference URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, available on the website isuf2025.org, does not include either Poster Sessions or Panel Sessions.

This decision is based on initial considerations related to both the scientific framework of the conference and the logistical issues of the historical venue that will host the conference.

Thank you for your understanding.

The email address isuf2025@symposium.it has been set up by the agency that manages the collection and evaluation of abstract proposals on behalf of the Organizing Committee for the ISUF 2025 Turin Conference URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, as well as the management of conference registrations. Communications are handled in close connection with Prof. Marco Trisciuoglio (Politecnico di Torino), Chair of the Conference and ISUF Council Member.

  • Can we receive an invitation letter with dates different from those of the conference or indicating other places that we intend to visit in Italy or Europe?

Participants of the ISUF 2025 Turin Conference URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE who require an invitation letter for visa purposes can obtain one for the duration of the conference and the necessary time to reach and/or depart from the conference venue. Extensions beyond the period under the jurisdiction of the Scientific Committee and its responsibility regarding Consulates and Embassies are not possible. Additionally, the invitation letter for the Conference cannot include other destinations in Italy or Europe that participants wish to visit in the weeks preceding or following the Conference.

  • Is it possible to add authors to those already indicated for an accepted contribution proposal?

The Scientific Committee of ISUF 2025 Turin Conference URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE does not allow modifications to the list of authors who have taken responsibility for the contribution proposal through their authorship. Changes are only permitted in the case of the self-declared withdrawal of one or more authors or in the case of necessary corrections to the spelling of names and surnames or corrections to affiliations.

  • Which is the ISUF 2025 definition of ECR (Early Career Research)?

Early career researchers are individuals of any nationality who have 2 to 7 years of research experience, affiliated with research institutions, since completing their PhD, and have not yet been appointed to academic staff positions. This definition keeps together the EU rules (ERC Starting Grant) and the most important literature on the topic.

  • Has ISUF 2025 a policy allowing authors to deposit or publish their research outputs?

All the accepted proposal abstracts of the registered participants will be published in the ISUF 2025 Book of Abstracts by the Politecnico di Torino, equipped with an ISBN code and made available on line to the participants from the first day of the conference. From its publication on, the Book of Abstracts will be shareable with the Creative Commons licence CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International).

According to the tradition of ISUF international conferences, the complete collection of full papers written by participants will be made available as proceedings in a downloadable PDF format on the conference website and the ISUF international website, which are used and considered as repositories. These Proceedings will be shareable with the Creative Commons licence CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International).

ISUF Steering Committee is planning to publish a selection of the full papers, conducted through a blind review process, under the provisional title “URBAN MORPHOLOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE”. This volume will be registered and shared under copyright according to the Publishing Company’s rules.

  • Which are the rules I have to follow for my presentation?

Each presenter is allocated 12 minutes for their presentation. Parallel sessions are scheduled in 90-minute time slots and typically include around 7 presentations. At the end of each parallel session, a group discussion is planned, lasting no more than 30 minutes. The session chair will introduce each presenter and conduct the discussion.

Please, plan to attend the entire session. The order of presentations may change before the final program is published or due to last-minute cancellations.

You may use either PDF or PowerPoint (PPT) formats for your presentation. There is no mandatory template, but a suggested layout for the cover page is available at the link.

Check in at your assigned session room before the session starts. Provide your presentation to the technical staff in advance. If your presentation includes videos, test them on the venue’s computers ahead of time (ideally the day before). Please, note that you cannot present directly from your laptop.
